Windows10 always loads 32bit version

#1

I am on a 64bit laptop, running windows 10. I noticed that Atom is always running the 32bit version. Is there a way for me to tell it to load the 64bit version?

There is an open Issue on having a 64-bit version for Windows:

You may want to subscribe to the Issue for updates.

I know there was a technical issue blocking it at one point. It appears that Electron now supports 64-bit Windows builds and that version of Electron is definitely in Atom by now. I’m not sure if there’s anything blocking it for Atom still. (Though there is the part where potentially all packages on a user’s machine would have to be rebuilt when transitioning from 32-bit to 64-bit.)
