Why do we need feature like Transpose character?

I was reading Atom 1.0.0 documentation. While I was reading the doc. I fund a feature called Transpose, so I was thinking at what circumstance do we need this kind of feature?

Transpose characters. This swaps the two characters on either side of the cursor.

Here is my questions:

  • When do you use this feature?
  • Is there any trick with this feature or this feature becoming handy with combination of other shortcuts?

Thank you.

Use Cases:

  1. Move the next char after quote inside. (I have read an use case online, which basically want to move the common after quotation mark inside the quote.)

Transposing two characters is the most common typo humans make. The function is a convenience for fixing those typos.
