Where does atom/browser/api/lib code run?

I’m trying to follow the execution path for the application::open event that causes the windows OS file picker to open up. I see code in atom/browser/api/lib/dialog.js that obviously runs (in AtomApplication.prototype.promptForPath).

I can’t see anything about this file in the inspector. I even put in a debugger statement and I inserted code to throw an exception. It’s as if the code doesn’t run.

What is special about this part of the library?

I found the answer. It is part of the atom shell and it runs in a separate process. It can be debugged using the node --debug command-line option.
