What would it take to get ChromeOS as a supported Electron target/platform?

We’re exploring the possibility of deploying an electron application that we’ve developed to a ChromeBook. It looks like there’s a way to run Linux apps with reasonably good performance in ChromeOS. If that doesn’t work, we could perhaps just put Linux on it and be done. However, I would like to know what it would take to add ChromeOS as a supported target/platform for Electron? Is the decision not to support it a technical one (i.e. not feasible to do) or a motivation/support one (i.e. not enough interest / funding; don’t want to have to support yet another thing)?

Looks like ChromeOS now supports Linux & Android apps without emulation. Has anyone here tried running their Electron (Linux) app on ChromeOS? If so, how was the performance?
