What is the difference between Teletype for ATOM and ATOM IDE?

#1

Hello,

What is the difference between Teletype for ATOM and ATOM IDE ?
Thanks,
Pierre

#2

They aren’t remotely similar. Teletype allows for live collaboration in the editor and Atom IDE is a set of packages that implement the Language Server protocol to provide features that make Atom smarter when it comes to autocompletion and code checking.

Thanks for the answer.
Atom IDE does not use Teletype internally?

#4

No, it does not.

Hi Pierre,

Packages normally aim to have one major type functionality.

Is there any particular reason for your questions?
…perhaps you have an idea or suggestion.
…perhaps you hope to load the least number of packages.

You had a question about shared / paired programming a while ago. Have you tried Teletype yet? What is your opinion on the package?

Regards.
