What are the differences between atom-lint and atomlinter? Why use one or the other?

I was just wondering what the differences between these two packages were (atom-lint, linter)

I’m using atom-lint and I find it’s mostly feature complete, but then again linter keeps trending on packages, so I got to wonder. Am I missing out? Is either better than the other? Why do we have 2 so similar packages?

Generally, if you are happy with one package, there’s no point in looking for another.
However, the Linter suite of packages has become very popular, mostly because it uses plugin packages for a great number of file types and lets you customize which languages to support linting for, by installing them one by one.

Whether or not one is better than the other, it’s really up to you. I’d say try both and see which suits you best.
