Using Development & Published Version of a Package

#1

I am working on a package which I have published.

Is it possible to have both the development version and the published version installed at the same time without conflicts?

#2

Yes. You can keep the development one in your .atom/dev/packages folder, and the release one in .atom/packages.

This way, opening Atom in dev mode will load the dev version, while opening Atom normally will load the release version.

#3

Thanks for that. How do I open Atom in dev mode? I am running on Mac.

#4

Either in a terminal with atom --dev, or in normal Atom go to View -> Developer -> Open In Dev Mode

It will have a box in the bottom left to indicate you are in dev mode.

Here’s the relevant flight manual entry. It was harder to find then I thought.

Ah, thank you for that. The terminal command will do nicely.
