Use Terminal ENV in Atom Startup/Configuration

How do you configure Atom such that it defaults to my terminal ENV? I know that you can start it in the terminal via the atom command which will make it use the existing ENV, but I would prefer to have it default to my ENV even if I start it as a classic OS X application.

Thanks leedohm that will work. But, that wasn’t the method I was looking for. I’m trying to find out if there is a command I can run in the atom config file that will export my ENV so that when I run the cmd + i command with the script package it will use my terminal ENV.
