Unable to open project directory

how to solve the problem

#2

When do you see this error message?

#4

Everytime i open the setting, the red flag just keep poping out warning me about something I don’t understand
I’m new to atom

#5

Is there a .atom folder in your user directory? You may have to set hidden files to visible to see it.

#6

it happened after I updated atom

#7

Do you see the folder I mentioned? Close Atom, rename the folder to atom-backup, then reopen Atom and look at Settings.

#8

so I use mv to rename .atom into what you said, but it won’t work and a new .atom appeared.

#9

That’s what’s supposed to happen. Does the error message appear with a clean .atom folder?

#10

Yep still red poping out

#11

Maybe reinstalling Atom would solve it. I haven’t seen this before. You can move the old .atom folder back. Since all configuration is stored there, there’s no risk of losing information in uninstalling or reinstalling the program.

#12

ok,i see
thanks a lot

#13

apt purge atom doesn’t solve the problem. Issue 16645 has been filed.
Atom : 1.23.3
Electron: 1.6.15
Chrome : 56.0.2924.87
Node : 7.4.0
