Unable to compile cpp file with F6 key on Mac

Hi guys, so I have the gcc-make-run package installed and I used to be able to just press F6 on my macbook’s keyboard to compile and run conveniently.
However, recently whenever I press F6, it shows me this error message:
// cpp file for testing
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Process returned 1 (0x1) execution time : 0.037 s
Close this window to continue…

It just points straight to my first line comment and say it is invalid syntax.
I can still right-click and select “Compile Run F6” and it works perfectly fine.
I can also do cmd-i to run it using the Script package no problem.

Please help me!

Solved.
The problem was that a Python plugin was interfering with the C++ plugin using the same hotkey.
