Tree View not ignoring 'Ignored Names' names

#1

I have the following in Ignored Names in Settings: “.git, .o, .pro*”

But for some reason the files are still listed in tree view.

#2

Did you go into the settings for tree-view and check the “Hide Ignored Names”?

#3

Sorry for the late reply, yes I do have the box checked, should have included that.

#4

Are those entries in the Ignored Names in Settings? Or are they in your gitignore? Or both?

#5

Just in the Ignored Names in Settings

#6

Can you post screenshots of the settings you’ve been asked about above? Or copy and paste your config.cson?

config.cson:

"*":
  "activate-power-mode":
    particles:
      size: {}
      spawnCount: {}
      totalCount: {}
    screenShake: {}
  autosave:
    enabled: true
  core:
    disabledPackages: [
      "wrap-guide"
    ]
    ignoredNames: [
      ".git"
      ".o"
      ".pro*"
    ]
  editor:
    fontSize: 13
    invisibles: {}
    tabLength: 4
  "project-manager": {}
  "tree-view":
    hideIgnoredNames: true
  welcome:
    showOnStartup: false

I deleted my config.cson and replaced it with the above contents. I then did the following:

  1. Opened the terminal
  2. Changed to the base directory of the project I had open
  3. Executed the command: touch .profoo and noted that the file did not show up in the tree view
  4. Deleted the line containing ".pro*"
  5. Saved the config.cson and noted that the file .profoo immediately showed up in the tree view
  6. Restored the line using Cmd+Z
  7. Saved the config.cson and noted that the file .profoo disappeared again

Do you really have files in your tree with the full file name of .o? Or do you have files with the extension .o that you want to ignore? If you want to ignore files with just the extension, you should have *.o in the Ignored Names.

If you want to ignore files with just the extension, you should have *.o in the Ignored Names.

Oh I though it was just the extension that I had to add, thanks mate!
