Today's update killed Atom - Fixed

I fixed the problem described below by uninstalling Atom, deleting all files and folders, and then installing fresh.

I’ve been using Atom successfully for a couple of years. Now on Windows 10.

When I loaded Atom this morning, it hung for a long time and I noticed it was updating itself. Both Atom.exe and Update.exe are dated today (March 1st).

I waited but it never gave me control. It was frozen. I’ve tried stopping and restarting it several times. I’ve also checked the forum and added --clear-window-state to the command string.

Nothing has worked. It’s dead. Brings up the last-used tabs but freezes, never highlighting syntax or allowing control. Menus may be dropped down and selections made, but to no effect…

Any ideas?
