Styles.less Highlight & Search background/text color

#1

Hey all, I just got Atom installed two days ago.
Here’s a few things I couldn’t find the most proper way the default styles.less can do in v1.15.0

  1. I could only change basic text color permanently but cannot specify another color when highlighting them.
  2. I could change the current selected matching find, but it only shows for the moment I press enter, then go back to the permanent change I specify at .selection .region.

Here’s the styles.less of mine

// style the background color of the tree view
.tree-view {
// background-color: whitesmoke;
}

// style the background and foreground colors on the atom-text-editor-element itself
atom-text-editor {
color: #e0dfde;
// background-color: hsl(180, 24%, 12%);
}

// style UI elements inside atom-text-editor
atom-text-editor .cursor {
border-color: #d8d8d8;
}

atom-text-editor.editor{

.selection .region {
    background: #1a707a;
    color: white; //This doesn't change color of text when highlighting
}
.highlight.find-result .region {
    background: #238248;
    z-index: -1;
}

.highlight.current-result .region{ //This is section only in effect the second I press enter, and goes back to #1a707a
    background: #2faf61;
    border: 5px solid white;
    z-index: -1;
}

}
