[SOLVED] Atom freezing on Ubuntu 15.10

#1

Hey guys, I used to use the Atom smoothly on my Ubuntu MATE 15.04 until one day upgraded to Ubuntu 15.10 (clean installation) and after installing Atom via .deb it only shows the title bar and then gives me a message asking if I want to finish it because it is not responding.
I tried reinstalling using the PPA WebUpd8 but received the same error.
Running as root also get the same error.

Attached the screenshot and contents of the file ~/.atom/nohup.out

nohup.out

Thank you.

Which version of Atom do you have installed? Can you reproduce the issue by running Atom in Safe Mode?

To launch Safe Mode:

  1. Completely exit all instances of Atom
  2. Launch Atom with the command atom --safe

thank you for the answer but Atom worked fine after I stoped using the X.ORG vga driver and started using the nvidia driver.
