Rasterized PDF with atom-latex

#1

I’ve been using atom with atom-latex, and i noticed that while the PDFs look fine in the preview window, if I try to print them, form within atom, they get rasterized, degrading the quality of the output. If I open the PDF using my system viewer and print, it’s fine. This is a minor inconvenience, but is there a way to get around it?

Hi, I assume you are using pdf-view to open PDFs in Atom? The packages internally uses pdf.js, on their repo you’ll find a couple of bugs related to your issue. Unfortunately it looks like there’s not much you can do about it for now, other than subscribing to that issue on GitHub.
What you might want to do (as long as there is no fix for the issue), is replacing the default PDF viewer in the latex package options with your system viewer.
Hope that helps
