PHP and JS Highlighting

#1

I am currently experiencing an issue with syntax highlighting for a file with both PHP and Javascript.

Currently, the filename is script.js.php. The file is used as a script, and imported as such, in an external html file, but is named .php to allow for php processing. However, the Javascript code outside of the PHP tags is not highlighted properly. I decided to see what would happen if I changed the file extension to .js (figuring I could use the .htaccess to handle the php parsing), and found that the javascript highlights properly, but not the php tags.

I am using the following php extensions:

Is there any way I can have the javascript highlight properly, preferably without changing the extension?

EDIT: I have discovered that if I use tags around it, everything renders as it should. I can use this as a workaround for now, but is there any way I can have it render as JS without the script tags?
