Packaging Atom with packages for Windows

#1

Is there a way to bundle Atom with third party packages pre-installed and built for download? I have had a lot of trouble installing third party packages on Windows 10 due to issues building node-gyp. I would like to allow other users to install my configuration of packages and general Atom environment without having to separately build any external packages. My goal is to create one simple download of my environment and bypass any building and potential for a node-gyp issue.

There currently isn’t a system provided for doing this, no. We are looking into ways to make node-gyp unnecessary by giving the package authors methods of pre-generating the appropriate binaries. It’s a tough nut to crack though. We don’t have any timeline for when we’ll have it solved.
