OS X: Close Icon on the wrong side?

#1

Hi there,

this bothers me from the beginning. For me the close icon for closing tabs is on the wrong side. If one looks at all the native OS X apps the close icon is always on the left (Safari tabs for example), and for me that’s more intuitive, maybe it would be a good idea to move it around in Atom for OS X as well?

Cheers
Nik

You can add the following to your styles.less to make the icons appear on the left side of the tab:

@import "ui-variables";

.tab-bar .tab {
  .title {
    padding-left: 1.6em;
  }

  .close-icon {
    right: auto;
    left: @component-padding;
  }
}

I never thought of it, but I actually quite like the close buttons on the left side, so thanks for the suggestion! :smile:

Great, thanks :smiley:

Yup, for me it’s better as well.

Themes really should take this into account, the classes to do it are already there. Though, I’m on OS X full time, and I “haven’t gotten around to it” yet either…

This is bugging me too.

Guys, get this… at least while they change the app itself.
