Not able to associate atom with git - Error ( MacOS)

#1

Hi all,

I wanna to add atom to git instead of using the default editor.

https://help.github.com/articles/associating-text-editors-with-git/

Just install atom ( check, is open and working)
and type: git config --global core.editor "atom --wait"
However my output is:

Brunos-MacBook-Air-2:ThesisLaTeX brunosousa$ git config --global core.editor "atom --wait"
Brunos-MacBook-Air-2:ThesisLaTeX brunosousa$ git commit
atom --wait: atom: command not found
error: There was a problem with the editor ‘atom --wait’.

Didn’t find any reference to this error on the internet, what I am doing wrong?

Thank you.

Go to the Atom menu and select “Install Shell Commands”. That should fix it for you (after you restart the Terminal).
