Making innocuous notifications

#1

Hi all,

I’m working on a package that executes highlighted code in the background (r-exec) and I want to notify the user if the command was executed successfully. Since this will be done regularly, I want the notification to be innocuous and lightweight. Sort of fade in and out after a few seconds. I’m still learning JS/coffeescript so I don’t know what’s available. Any suggestions for a way to notify the user? Examples from other packages would be great as well.

Thanks in advance!

Harold

Hi @pimentel! It sounds like the Atom NotificationManager is just what the doctor ordered.

Here are a few links to get you started:

Atom Notification API Reference: https://atom.io/docs/api/latest/Notification
Atom NotificationManager API Reference: https://atom.io/docs/api/latest/NotificationManager

Best of luck,

Thanks, @GigabyteGiant! You rock! This looks perfect.

I’m really digging how nice people have been so far in the Atom community : -)

Thanks,
