Keybinding to close a non-edit pane

I’ve set the api-docs helper and some other windows (like settings view) to open in a new pane.
Would it be possible to close such a pane using ‘esc’?

If there is nothing else in the pane and you set Atom to close empty panes and you map Esc to each type of pane item that you want to close like that (since there isn’t a catch-all for “non-edit pane item”), then yes. Or you could create a new command that looks for a pane with a single pane item to close and then map that to Esc. It might make closing things like the Find and Replace or Keybinding Resolver panels a little wonky, but it should work.

The find panels already go away with escape. I’ll try to learn by reading other package’s sources.
