Java in Atom

I just got atom because it looked clean and very customizeable. But i know nothing about how to configure Atom to compile and run Java.

When I start a new project and make a new file in it called something.java, it says to me that Atom is unable to find Java Runtime, i have JRE installed on my computer, but for some reason Atom cannot recongise that.

I want to configure Java so that It has all the basic imports and class name ready for me, similar to eclipse.
With autocomplete and automatic import whenever i need it. Automatic methods for different implements, such as runnable or actionlistener.

Basically everything eclipse does, but in atom.

I know that it sounds like I should just stick to eclipse… I just wanted to give Atom a fair try since it does look neat and clean, much easier to add plug-ins than eclipse.

What says this to you? What package are you using here?

It appears that the Atom package ide-java uses Eclipse’s language server.

For code that you’ll be using a lot like certain imports, you can use Atom’s snippets functionality.
