Japanese encoding?

#1

Hello, I have recently started using Atom and I have some files containing Japanese Kanji and hiragana, however they won’t display correctly. The file type is UTF-8, Atom is set to be UTF-8, and the characters are displayed correctly in Sublime and Gedit.

What could be causing this?
Atom

Yeh me too! Did anyone get any answer to this?

Most likely the font you’re using doesn’t have Japanese glyphs. Try switching the font to a Japanese one.

I don’t think it’s a font issue, it would seem it’s an issue with the latest version in Ubuntu. I raised this issue in Github - https://github.com/atom/atom/issues/7899
