Thank you for the insight. I wonder if they will release the custom shell and how they differ from node-webkit or brackets-shell.
In this podcast https://soundcloud.com/import-this/episode-1 it was said that Github does plan to release the custom shell at some point. Can’t wait to see it. node-webkit is really awesome, but there are a lot of bugs that make my life hard, so I’d be happy to have an alternative that I could switch to in a worst case scenario.
They have open sourced their “atom-shell” and are not using node-webkit: https://github.com/atom/atom-shell
