Is there a way to insert the contents of another file into the currently open buffer? From Emacs, Aquamacs, jEdit, etc. I am quite used to insert the contents of another file into the currently open buffer. None of the actions available from the menu (I am running Atom 0.99.0 on Mac OS 10.9.3) offers such a capability. What I could do is to open the other file separately and then copy and paste its contents… but this is very inefficient, especially since Atom would scan the directory from which the other file is taken.
Are there any packages that do this?
At least not to my knowledge, though I have to admit it has been a while since I checked. Yes, there is a way to kind of work around this issue - open in a new tab, copy and past to original tab - but obviously this is not the same (also in terms of efficiency).
This would be really useful. Not only for coding but for long complex research projects that relay on several text snippets.
