How to use git-diff package?

#1

I’m trying to view my lines added/removed between each Commit from my Atom.io interface (just like you can from GitHub).

However I can’t seem to get it to work. The git-diff package sounds like it’s meant to do what I want, but the short cut alt-g down/up/d doesn’t seem to do anything for me.

Am I missing something? How can I view the commits from my Atom.io interface?

#2

I’m afraid that’s not what the git diff package was meant to do. The git diff package states that it displays the differences between your working tree and the last commit, not differences between commits themselves.

Then, how can I do what I want to do? How can I see the differences in all my files after (or before) I do a git merge?

Right now, this functionality is not built into Atom. (and I don’t know of any Community packages that would do this either.)

My recommendation would be to use the CLI git diff tool.

(It could be possible to monkey this with checking out and resetting, but it would almost certainly be more trouble than it’s worth.)
