How to open and watch a local repositories using Atom

I have a couple local repositories on my machine that are being watched by the tower app currently.

I’d like to start using Atom’s git integration if i could to do my version control, the less apps I have to use the better. How do I initially set up atom to watch those repositories? Currently each repository has one new commit that I have to pull from the remote but I’m not seeing it in atom I’m sure the answer is staring me in the face.

The Flight Manual has documentation on how the GitHub package works:

If you open a Git repository in Atom, then you can use the GitHub: Toggle Git Tab to show the Git panel where you can stage and commit your work. There are arrows in the status bar for pushing/pulling as described here:

Let us know if you have any trouble.
