How to not show certain files

How do i enable to not show files such as output files (.o) or static library files like (.a) or dynamically shared libraries like (.so) ? Im thinking there is some confugration under /etc but im new to atom so if you guys can guide me that will be wonderfull :stuck_out_tongue: .

I was actually wrong… Atom has its own core configuration file. which you can gain under Edit/Config.. , then used this to ignore files that were listed under my .gitignore file :

    themes: [
    fontSize: 13
    userId: "a3580540-8a7d-545f-6c90-05cc0755ffe6"
    hideIgnoredNames: true
    hideVcsIgnoredFiles: true

This solved the issues. Look here for more :

It’s even easier to get to this from the Settings View:

  1. Launch Atom
  2. Open Settings View using Cmd+, on macOS or Ctrl+, on other platforms
  3. Click the Packages tab on the left side
  4. Search for “Tree View” in the search box
  5. Click the Settings button on the tree-view package tile
  6. Scroll down and put a check in the “Hide VCS Ignored Files” setting
