How do you add commands?

#1

It’s probably a frequent question but I didn’t find how you simply add commands to be executable on the current file or project (compilation, execution, etc.).

Is there a configuration panel I missed or something ?

#2

I’d love to help, but I need a little more information. Could you give a specific example of what you want to do and how Atom would solve the problem?

I’m used in the text editors I use to add commands like

  • convert the current file from sass to css
  • go format the current file
  • compile and run the current go program
  • etc.

For all of those I define commands and shortcuts depending on the file type. For example if the current buffer is a somename.scss file, hitting uppercase+F8 executes the sass compilation command and produces a somename.css file.
