How can i get a 'smoother' style of a font?

Hey all,

I’ve been working with PyCharm for years because i was coding in Python and really liked the interface. Now i am getting used to Atom and i really cannot live with the fact the text looks like this:

I want it to look like this:

As you can see, there is a small difference between de text, is there a package that does this to code?

I hope someone could help me out! :slight_smile:

I researched tips on font smoothing found through Atom search … edit your Stylesheet… … trial and error.

Thanks for the reply, i tried this:

But nothing changed? Am i doing something wrong? Also i added this to the tree-view and text-editor.

Looking at my own file I have this snippet:

atom-text-editor {
  font-size: 14px;
  font-family: DejaVu Sans Mono;
  -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased;
}

Unfortunately that did not work ;(

I also have this in styles.less (found from searching)

atom-text-editor {
  transform: scaleX(1.0000001);
}

source

And this …

// 400 is regular, 700 is bold

atom-text-editor {
  font-weight: 500;
}

source

Thanks for searching man i really appreicate that,
Unfortunately also that did nothing, i don’t really have the problem of bad text rendering i just prefer the other text ‘style’

Then research “themes”.
