"hide line numbers"

“hide line numbers” also hides:

  • folding
  • source control icons
  • bookmarks
  • etc?

could we get a seperate option to just hide the line numbers only please?

Yeah, it should probably be renamed to “Remove Gutter” or the functionality changed.
