HELP "Running without the SUID Sandbox!"

#1

HELP. I’m trying to open a file (through ssh if that makes any difference) and when I try and use the command atom, it says I’m running without the SUID sandbox… I’ve looked everywhere a solution and can’t find something to help my problem. This is what shows up in the terminal:

[ayarbrou@cycle2 Homework4]$ atom GameDriver.cpp
[ayarbrou@cycle2 Homework4]$ [1765:0418/090656:ERROR:browser_main_loop.cc(170)] Running without the SUID sandbox! See https://code.google.com/p/chromium/wiki/LinuxSUIDSandboxDevelopment for more information on developing with the sandbox on.

This is a long-running issue that nobody has ever been able to find a way to reproduce:

There are some implications that it has to do with permissions on the Atom executable, but that hasn’t been verified.

I am having the same exact error and always end up on that issue; however, none of hte suggestions seem to help.
