Hack internal package

#1

Hi,

I want to modify one of the ‘internal’ packages of atom (namely the snippets package) - is there any convenient way to do so? Atom.io comes with that package shipped, so I cannot just uninstall it and install a locally unpacked version of it… any hints?

Thanks a lot!

You can use the apm develop command to clone, install dependencies and link any Atom package, including the built in ones:

Usage: apm develop <package_name> [<directory>]

Clone the given package's Git repository to the directory specified,
install its dependencies, and link it for development to
~/.atom/dev/packages/<package_name>.

Packages that show up in (or are symlinked into) ~/.atom/packages (or ~/.atom/dev/packages in Dev Mode) override the built-in ones.
