Gpgkey fails to install

#1

Hello,

I am struggling to install Atom on my VMBOX Kali Linux machine using the flight manual install guide I am very new to Linux (only really been using it for about 3 hours) and don’t know much about SSL yet - the issue seems to be a failure to aquire the gpg key

Following the initial steps, it fails to install and here’s an output of my “Terminal” window (I’ve had to remove URLs due to new user limits);
slug@kali:~$ su

root@kali: home slug# curl -sL packagecloud io AtomEditor atom gpgkey | sudo apt-key add -

root@kali: home slug# sudo sh -c ‘echo “deb [arch=amd64] packagecloud io AtomEditor atom any any main” > etc apt sources list d atom list’

Reading what it says, it seems I could install it by disabling repository signatures, but I’d rather not

I think the issue stems from the error;
gpg: no valid OpenPGP data found

After looking around, I managed to get it to show more details using the -v operator;
root@kali: home slug# curl -vsL packagecloud io AtomEditor atom gpgkey | sudo apt-key add -

After about an hour of looking around, I am none the wiser on how I fix this issue - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
