Fetching featured packages failed ('must call as: npm.load(callback)')

Hi,
I’m running ArcoLinux, latest kernel. When I try to install packages on a fresh Arco installation, I get this, which, I can assure you, flies clear over my head:

/usr/lib/node_modules/npm/lib/npm.js:127
throw new TypeError(‘must call as: npm.load(callback)’)
^

Uninstalled, re-installed, not sure what to try next. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks
