Error when launching Atom (stable/beta)

#1

I am getting the following error when attempting to open Atom stable, as well as Atom beta:
/usr/bin/atom-beta: line 157: 3585 Segmentation fault (core dumped) nohup "$ATOM_PATH" --executed-from="$(pwd)" --pid=$$ "$@" > "$ATOM_HOME/nohup.out" 2>&1

I have tried performing a complete uninstall/reinstall, to no avail.

Am running Ubuntu 18.10, which I suspect is the root of my issue, as I cannot find anyone else running into this exact issue.

#2

Ubuntu 18.10 pre-release, to be more specific.

#3

I think that might be the issue see:

and:

Looks like 18.10 ships with that version of glibc.
