Error al instalar Packages ATOM

#1

Hola cada vez que intento descargar un package desde la aplicacion me sale un error, por ejemplo cuando intento descargar “color-picker” me sale este error:

“Packages that depend on modules that contain C/C++ code will fail to install.
Read here for instructions on installing Python and Visual Studio.
Run apm install --check after installing to test compiling a native module.”

I have windows 10 pro 64bits, Atom 1.19.5 x64bits, when I use apm in prompt
I get an error:

“apm” is not recognized as an internal or external command,
program or executable batch file.

Try the command atom -v. I want to see if both commands are broken.

¡Hola Thomas!
¿Cómo estás?

[English]
The command you are trying to execute is not available from everywhere. You have to navigate to the home of this command before executing the command.

This situation can be changed if you load the directory of the command into the PATH. A web search will be able to reveal the details of this. …but now we ignore this detail and continue -

Inside command prompt (cmd.exe ), please try this:
(I assume atom is installed in default place)
cd %localappdata%/atom/bin/
apm -v

or the one line version ->
%localappdata%/atom/bin/apm -v

What is your result now?

the same answer…

“atom” is not recognized as an internal or external command,
program or executable batch file.

#9
cd %localappdata%/atom/bin/ apm -v

“The system can not find the path specified.”

%localappdata%/atom/bin/apm -v

’ “apm” is not recognized as an internal or external command,
program or executable batch file.’

I found the path

C:\Users\Thomas\AppData\Local\atom\app-1.19.5\resources\app\apm\bin

Good!

Your aim is to get the “color-picker” to function - right? Are you able to follow the instructions they give in the package to resolve your actual problem?

++ What is your actual problem?
What functionality are you hoping to give Atom? (
hint: “color-picker” is your chosen solution, not the actual problem)

@thomzam
I have seen this happen before, where the bin folder doesn’t get installed properly. I don’t know why, but I know how to fix it. Download these files and place them in C:\Users\Thomas\AppData\Local\atom\bin.
