Electron app attempting to use HTTPS when site version is using HTTP

So I’ve got an issue with the electron app attempting to use the https version for my webpack and bundle file.

On my localhost:8080, it works correctly and gets HTTP on those files. But when I run the electron app version, it attempts to use HTTPS on the 2 files and I get a GET https://localhost/ net::ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.

However, this is just on my computer it seems, because a friend pulled the project and it works for both his localhost and his electron app. So it must be something on my computer which is making the requests go as https. Was wondering if anyone knew exactly.

This is my main.js.

var app = require('app');
var BrowserWindow = require('browser-window');
app.on('window-all-closed', function() {
  if (process.platform != 'darwin') {
app.on('ready', function() {
  mainWindow = new BrowserWindow({width: 1360, height: 800});
  mainWindow.loadURL('file://' + __dirname + '/public/index.html');
  mainWindow.on('closed', function() {
    mainWindow = null;
