Atom Fails to Launch OS X 10.9.2
#2

im using 10.9.2 as are many others without issue… I recommend deleting Atom, re-downloading and re-installing

#3

Won’t even install for me on 10.9.2 - same error message as OP.

#4

You can’t drag the application into the Applications folder?

#5

Downloaded the zip, unpacked the app, put it in my applications folder, double clicked to open, got the error alert.

#6

Try deleting ~/.atom/ and then opening the app again.

Also, are you unzipping the app from the command line or with the OS X unarchiver. For some reason if you unzip the binary from the command line the Atom binary becomes corrupt.

#7

Fixed! Thanks @ProbablyCorey

You need to use the standard Archive Utility to unzip the app.

(I was using a third party zip app called EncryptedZip)
