Does this have any effect on editor text?

A while back, before shadow dom, I was using -webkit-font-smoothing to (I hoped) make the text look heavier on OSX.

I’ve been using this now:

atom-text-editor::shadow * {
  -webkit-font-smoothing: subpixel-antialiased;

Does it even do anything, or should I remove it?

I’m pretty sure the default themes already have subpixel antialiasing turned on. There were some issues early on where Markdown was using some other antialiasing technique … but I’ve long since removed that entry from my styles.less. I think it is safe to remove it.
