Dismissing the Right-Click Context Menu Causes Random Text to be Highlighted

#1

When I enter the context menu, by right-clicking on the editor, then dismiss the menu, by clicking off of it, some text in my file (usually the text that the cursor is next to) will be highlighted. Furthermore, this happens after running the packages that include a context menu option as well. For instance, if I place my cursor by a word or piece of code, right-click and select “Toggle Minimap,” that word or code is highlighted.

I just wanted to ask if anyone else here is experiencing this before filing a bug report.

I’m using Atom 1.22.1 on macOS 10.12.6.

Atom runs on Windows on my PC… none of what you describe happens on mine.
As I have a bare-bones installation…perhaps try replicating this in SAFE mode.

Pictures would be nice.

I’m also not seeing this behavior on Windows 10.

Yep, it seems to be persisting even in SAFE mode.
