Ctrl-tab key mapping on Windows

I wanted to map ctrl-tab to switch between tabs (like you do in chrome and most other editors), not the previously-used tabs (like in sublime). I went to the keybindings settings page, clicked the clipboard to copy the keybinding, and pasted in the cson file, and then modified it like so:

  'ctrl-tab': 'pane:show-next-item'

Now the keybindings page looks like this:

I then closed and reopened Atom but the behavior of ctrl-tab hasn’t changed! I’ve googled this issue and everything I try doesn’t seem to work at all (I’m also having trouble mapping alt-left and alt-right to move the cursor to the beginning and end of the line respectively, but I feel solving my original problem will solve this new one).

There is a FAQ for this here:

Worked like a charm, thank you!
