Command+{ / Command+} doesn't always switch tabs

#1

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open two files in Atom.
  2. Open the Settings UI.
  3. Search for an Atom package to install.
  4. Click Install.
  5. Press Command+{ or Command+}

Expected:

Atom switches tabs.

Observed:

Atom does nothing.

Mitigation:

Click a blank part of the UI, then press Command+{ or Command+}.

#2

Having the same issue but at first I thought it was a problem on my setup, since I have mapped different shortcuts.

#3

What does the Keybinding Resolver show when you perform the repro steps?

#4

The Keybinding Resolver shows Command+{ resolving to

pane:show-previous-item body /opt/homebrew-cask/Caskroom/atom/latest/Atom.app/Contents/Resources/app/keymaps/darwin.json

This resolution displays the same way for both working (general Command+{ usage) and non-working (Install, Command+{ ) usage.

#5

What keyboard layout are you using?

#6

The default Atom keyboad layout on Mac OS X; I haven’t gotten around to customizing it yet.

#7

What Lee was asking is what is your Mac keyboard layout? There are known issues with Atom when the keyboard layout is not US English. (I seem to do fine with US English Intl, as well.) I don’t know the precise issues and whether they can be worked around. But especially curly braces seem problematic keys.

#8

Thank you for clarifying.

My keyboard layout is U.S. English.
