Chocolately uninstall, windows installer issues

based on this post

in Win7, I attempted to uninstall using chocolately using cuninst Atom, and i received a bunch of errors related to the directory not being empty

i thought it would just be ok to install atom using the new windows installer and that it would fix it, unfortunately my atom install is still poining at the version 0.120.0 which was the same version I had before i started all of this

I am fairly confused how to get the new atom from the windows installer properly installed

Can you show the exact errors you get?

I guess before trying again, you might have to reinstall using Chocolatey, so that the uninstall can proceed properly.

Hm. One idea I’ve got (stab in the dark) is that perhaps your cmd window didn’t have admin rights when you typed cuninst Atom.
