Changing installed packages to shared location

We will be using Atom in our student labs and require some packages to be made available for the students to use. (Windows10)
I’ve installed Atom myself to see where Packages get installed to - it looks like a folder ‘,atom’ gets created in C:\Users<USERNAME>\

is it possible to change where the .atom folder is located and have the program use that location- so the packages are available for any student that logs onto a pc in the lab (so they don’t have to install packages themselves on each different pc they log on to?)

Many thanks

You can use Atom in “portable mode”, and/or specify the location of .atom with an environment variable ATOM_HOME.

Here’s some documentation that may help: https://flight-manual.atom.io/getting-started/sections/installing-atom/#portable-mode

Thanks so much for that - really appreciated
