Changing comment colour - styles.less, Ubuntu 16.04

#1

I have found various articles around the web offering conflicting advice about altering styles.less.

Was there an update recently to mean shadow DOM manipulation is no longer necessary?

I’m running Ubuntu 16.04 - Ctrl+Alt+Shift+P doesn’t reveal classes in a pop up, it gives a shortcut menu.

I have the following in my styles.less:

tom-text-editor::shadow .comments {
color: white;
}

//res

atom-text-editor .syntax–double-slash {
color: white;
}

/* test */

atom-text-editor .comment.line.double-slash.js {
color: white;
}

//test

However, non of these snippets have any effect on my files.

Where am I going wrong?

Thank you

Yes, there was.
