CentOS 6 install without sudo privileges

#1

Is there any way to install Atom in CentOS 6 without sudo privileges? I tried to install it into my home folder using the rpm file like so:
% rpm2cpio atom.x86_64.rpm | cpio -i -d
But I am having an issue with libnotify.so.4. My sysadmin says he can’t find a version of that library for CentOS, so I would need an older version of Atom that doesn’t require it or install Sublime (boo!).
I found this discussion on GitHub (https://github.com/atom/atom/issues/2177), but it ends with “I gave up and installed Sublime3…” (boo!).
Help me Obiwan; you’re my only hope.
Thanks,
Ashley
