I am new to Atom someone help me on how to find or how to make shortcut of atom in windows?
I believe the default shortcut should be in your Start Menu under the folder
GitHub, Inc. (that’s where it is for me). You can easily copy that if you want one on your desktop. You don’t want to create a shortcut based on the program executable itself, because the default shortcut actually sends a command through
update.exe to open Atom if there isn’t a new version, and to download and install the new version if it exists.
No the file You Said for I searched it in my Start Menu but it wasn’t there
Wait, I looked closer and I might have been operating on an old understanding. Try this:
- Navigate to
C:/Users/<your folder>/AppData/Local/atom. You’ll see a folder entitled
app-1.16.0(if your version is the current one) and an executable called
atom.exe. This executable is not Atom, but will start Atom.
- Right-click on
- Right-click on the shortcut and select
- Find the field labeled
Start in:and enter
That should get you where you need to be.
