Automatically open dependent documents

#1

Hi there.

I’m a long-time user of Dreamweaver currently trying out Atom. One of my favourite features of Dreamweaver is that when you open a file, it’ll automatically open any dependent files - files linked to that file. So opening .html file would also open all the .css and .js documents that page links to, which is incredibly useful for me because if I’m working on that page, it also means I’m likely to be working on those documents too. I’m wondering if there’s anything similar that’ll allow me to do this in Atom, whether a built-in feature or a package.

Thanks in advance!

Dreamweaver has project files so it knows what files are linked together. Atom’s projects are just plain folders and there is nothing stored about files.

Having said that, it wouldn’t be too hard to write a package for this. You could either have a special file that lists the other files, or better yet, just put the list of files in a comment in the main file. Why don’t you try your hand at writing such a package?
