Atom -w doesn't behave like other editors

#1

In most other editors, running with the wait command opens the file or path specified, and waits until that file is closed.

Atom mostly does this, however, if the file is opened in a tab, and said tab is closed, focus does not return to the terminal or wherever the command originated. To return focus, and stop waiting, one has to close the entire atom window.

Is there any way to fix this?

There isn’t currently a way to fix this. There is an Issue tracking it here:

It seems like it would be a simple code fix; what do you mean by “there isn’t a way to fix this?”

#4

I meant that “there isn’t something that can be done short of changing the Atom Core code” like a configuration option or easy extension point.

Subscribed, I missed that one earlier
